142nd Anniversary of Establishing the Geological Committee

The Geological Committee of Russia on 31 January 2024 celebrated the 142^nd anniversary of its establishing. The Karpinsky Institute hosted a solemn meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to this important date.

Director General Pavel Khimchenko congratulated the staff of the Karpinsky Institute and wished its employees further success in solving the tasks that the Committee faced in the 19^th century and which are still relevant today: systematic studying geology of Russia, solving practical problems of assessing the country’s potential for various types of minerals, international cooperation to strengthen the leading position of the Russian geological school in the world.

During the event, First Deputy Director General Maxim Tkachenko announced the main directions of the Karpinsky Institute's strategy for the coming years, noting that the document was developed in close cooperation with all structural divisions of the Institute.
