Fedor Lazarev graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute majored in geophysical methods for exploration of mineral deposits.

From 1981 to 2000, he worked at the Central Arctic Exploration Expedition from geophysicist to the head of the party. In 2000, he was hired by the Institute as the Head of the Party of the DGUP Central Arctic Exploration Expedition (VSEGEI). In 2001, he defended his candidate thesis Prediction of hydrocarbon accumulations from data of combined airborne geophysical studies (case study of the western part of the Yenisei-Khatanga Trough). In 2002, worked as the Head of the Party in DGUP Dudinka Central Arctic Exploration Expedition.

From 2003 to the present, Mr. Lazarev is the Director of the Norilsk Branch of VSEGEI.

Scientific degree: candidate in geological and mineralogical sciences.

He has state awards: Honorary Title "Meritorious Geologist of the Russian Federation" (2000); the Medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland 2nd class (2014), the Excellent Explorer Badge (1995).
